Carlos Torano Tribute 2008 Full

The Label Factor:

Go ahead and judge me but I like a double banded cigar.  I think, when done correctly, it can really make a cigar look classy.  This is the case with the Carlos Torano Tribute.  I am going to let you judge me even further: I bought this cigar without knowing anything about it.  IT JUST LOOKS COOL.  The dark brown Brazilian mata fina wrapper looks perfect with the black and gold label.  My mom always said not to wear a black belt with brown pants.  I guess those rules don’t apply to cigars.

Liga Privada T-52 Full

The Label Factor:

We love Liga Privada labels, as we have said before. The T52 follows the same pattern as the Dirty Rat and other Liga labels, the pattern of excellence. There isn’t much else to add to the discussion here that hasn’t already been said in our other Liga reviews. The label is classy.

Man O’War Armada Review

Brand: Man O’War                                  Country: Nicaragua

  Price: $20.00

Man O'War Armada Unlit

The Label Factor:

We have raved about the Man O’War labels in the past. Though similar to its little brothers, the Armada stands out for its simplicity. The gold spartan helmet pops from the solid black background, giving the Man O’War Armada a label worthy of the steep asking price. If you are a real baller, you may get to see the box they come in. How badass is that?

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story Maduro Review

The Label Factor:

I have a bone to pick with Arturo Fuente labels and it’s a pretty serious bone in my book.  The labels on just about all of these cigars are very uninformative. What cigar am I smoking? I have no idea! Well, in this case, I do have an idea, because I bought it. But, do you understand my consternation? Aside from the lack of description, the label also fails in the “looking cool” category. This is just my opinion and may not be universally shared, but the label is ugly. I will say, however, that the Hemingway Short Story Maduro was a good lesson for me in not judging cigars by their labels, because daaayyum, this was a good smoke.
