Summary:

Absolutely. The Headley Grange is an excellent smoke that highlights the natural tobacco flavors that you don't often see executed this well in other cigars. I can't imagine a cigar smoker that won't enjoy this cigar on some level. Be sure to pick a couple up, if you can find 'em.

The Label Factor:

Have you heard of the KISS design principle? I think Crowned Heads has. The Headley Grange has a simple, clean and classy label with an interesting texture along the edge. The colors are great and I am of the opinion that one can never go wrong with black and gold. (Note: KISS design principle not to be confused with the other KISS design principle, although if they made a cigar, I’d try it)

What We Liked:

Brace yourself, I am about to make a bold statement. The Headley Grange has the finest construction I have ever experienced. Punch cutting provided a clean cut with no torn wrapper. The draw was silky smooth and produced copious amounts of smoke. If you look at the photos, you can see my burn was flawless with gorgeous ash that held firm.

So how does it taste? Well, good. If that’s not descriptive enough, how about delicious? The Headley started very mellow with only a subtle tobacco flavor, bordering on bland. Things evolved pretty quickly as the flavors took on a nice toasted bread nuance. I was brought back to my days as a Subway Sandwich Artist. Jared should try this cigar.

As the flavor profile continued to change, I was reminded of the Opus X XXX. A pleasant natural tobacco flavor is front and center with a delicious subtle spice in the background. The Headley Grange doesn’t do business with the sweeter flavors that you’ll find in other high end cigars. Instead, it focuses on a pure tobacco flavor. This is not a bad thing, if that is your preferred flavor profile, I could easily see this becoming your favorite stick.

What We Didn’t Like:

I can be an idiot sometimes. Example; I bought two of these for us to review. I now want to buy more but they are sold out almost everywhere. I should have stocked up. It looks like they will become more abundant with new vitolas on the horizon in early 2013 so hopefully I can correct this mistake soon.
