The Label Factor:

What do you get when you take the Seleccion De Cazador band and make it red? The label on the Havana VI. If it aint broke…make it red.

What We Liked:

This may be controversial but I’m going to dedicate this entire paragraph to the draw. Saying the draw was phenomenal isn’t enough. What is better than phenomenal? Well, have you ever been bowling? If so, you know that feeling when you let go of the ball and immediately know it’s going to be a strike? That is how I felt after cutting the Havana VI. I knew something special had just happened. I appreciate you humoring me with that bowling analogy.

According the the Tatuaje website, the Havana VI is, “A class and traditional Cuban Style blend created by Pete Johnson.” With that in mind, it’s no surprise that I found myself having occasional flashbacks to the Herrera Esteli. I realize that isn’t fair to Tatuaje, since the Havana VI was released well before the Herrera. It should be the Herrera giving me flashbacks to the Havana VI. I apologize for smoking things out of order.

From the first few draws, the focus is on the tobacco. A sweet wood and earth profile is dominant for the first inch or so. After that, the natural flavors of tobacco push their way to the front with leather being in the passenger seat. Pepper comes and goes throughout, keeping your palate interested from start to finish.

What We Didn’t Like:

Had I smoked the Havana before the Seleccion De Cazador, this section would have been more difficult to write. While I enjoyed everything the Havana VI threw at me (have I mentioned the draw?), I kept thinking about the Brown Label at the same time. When push comes to shove and I have to pick only one, the Brown Label wins, due to its delicious flavor profile and a little more body.

But wait, there’s more! Where the Havana may not win in flavor, it does win in price. With that in mind, I could see myself reaching for the Havana more often than the Seleccion De Cazador.

Should You Try/Buy It:

Unless you skipped straight to this section, you already know the answer; yes, yes, yes.
