Headley Grange Drumstick Review

The Label Factor:

The label on the Headley Grange Drumstick is identical to the standard Headley label, just a bit smaller to accommodate the slender 38 ring gauge. The Drumstick has some serious allure – it’s not only the appeal of such a unique looking cigar, but also the knowledge that this is an endangered species with only a limited release. Because I know how rare these guys are, I feel like it should have a “Limited Edition” kicker band similar to what was found on the Mule Kick. I want people to KNOW that I’m smoking a limited edition. Well, that’s okay – I came prepared. As someone who has never thrown away a cigar label, I was able to do a bit of recycling here. Am I weird for doing this? Yes. Did I get a kick out of it anyway? Yes. Am I done asking and answering my own questions? Yes.

JD Howard Reserve Review

The Label Factor:

We were lucky enough to see a preview of the JD Howard Reserve label while talking to Jon Huber. However, the effect of seeing it on the cigar itself is completely different. Note that the interlocking JDH initials are raised and embossed, in case you are ever traveling in Mexico and encounter fakes.

Four Kicks Mule Kick Review

The Label Factor:

Take the already excellent Four Kicks label, add a black and gold Limited Edition 2012 secondary band, and what do you get? Well, you get an even classier look than the original. When I lay awake at night, I imagine my humidor filled with Mule Kicks and I fall asleep with ease.

Four Kicks Review

The Label Factor:

The Four Kicks has a pretty straight forward label with a classy vintage look. The texture along the edges gives everything a quality feel. Red and gold definitely seem to be a favorite among cigar manufacturers. From an interview we did with Jon Huber of Crowned Heads, I happen to know that these labels come from the same company in Holland that makes the Opus X labels. Maybe they had a sale on red and gold.
