The Label Factor:

We were lucky enough to see a preview of the JD Howard Reserve label while talking to Jon Huber. However, the effect of seeing it on the cigar itself is completely different. There are subtle nods to Jesse James’s Nashville address, 711 – where Crowned Heads is based, as well as a 337, the time the clock read when Jon was first inspired to create the JD Howard Reserve. Note that the interlocking JDH initials are raised and embossed, in case you are ever traveling in Mexico and encounter fakes.

The Label Factor:

Take the already excellent Four Kicks label, add a black and gold Limited Edition 2012 secondary band, and what do you get? Well, you get an even classier look than the original. When I lay awake at night, I imagine my humidor filled with Mule Kicks and I fall asleep with ease.

The Label Factor:

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the Carnivale and the original Brazilia is the additional of the yellow and green band on the foot, which reads, “Carnivale.” I’ve always been a fan of the CAO flag labels and the addition of a secondary band only enhances the appeal. A fine looking cigar, to be sure.

The Label Factor:

Hey, this label looks like a watch! It took me an embarrassingly long time to connect that dot with the name of the cigar. Aside from making me feel dumb, the retro looking label on this cigar really breaks the mold in a way that’s unique without being gimmicky.
